Treat-ing?

October 31, 2007

A slight chill in the air
   Little goblins and ghosts
      Are easier to scare though
         They have little to fear
Chocolate, candies and raisins
   Populate my goodies basket
      Tempting me to nibble things
         That I should likely avoid
The joy of halloween is the mystery
   Walking door to door, wondering
What suprise will be awaiting you
When you dump your bag on the table
Hidden behind makeup or a mask
A chance to be someone else
      Bolder, more assured, stronger
Able to face the people you meet
Oh, to be a kid again!

Shuffled

October 29, 2007

Is an iPod really just a metaphor for life?
A cornucopia of people and experiences
Some we are very fond of, in our Top 25
Some rarely touched, but there if we want it
And occasionally, sitting lost in thought
Our mind brings  forward a lost memory
Misplaced, buried, forgotten
That reminds you of what might have been
Of what you lost and makes you wonder
Why you couldn’t have done something, anything
To keep from being shuffled
To the back of someone’s mind?

Love?

October 11, 2007

noun: affection and tenderness felt by lovers

I loved you
   more than I should
      more than I wanted
but no less than you deserved
No strings attached
   but bonds formed
      like a spider’s web
         barely visible yet strong
As all strings do
   they hold you up
      supporting your life
         making things bearable
But now
   they are cut
      and I fall down
         back where you found me
Alone

Bread

October 6, 2007

Do you Wonder where your slice is?
   Is it in the middle,
      Safe, soft, protected
         Wanted by everyone
   Or on the end
      Darkened, hardened, often discarded
         Except by those select few
            That savor that piece
               That few others want?

Hot Tub

September 19, 2007

Hot, wet, relaxing
A pleasure to be inside
Reminds me of you

Taboo

September 8, 2007

To some
What we share
Would be forbidden
How I touch you
Where I touch you
That I even touch you
But I cannot resist
Your touch, your taste
Even your smell
Draw me deeper
Under your spell
You submit to me
But so I do to you
Two separate as one
Together but apart
No bonds but those
That require no words
What lies next behind
The off-limits doors?

The Answer Man

September 2, 2007

Where do you find him
The one with all the answers
For they need to solve my dilema
Of where to turn and where to run
To help me pull together the pieces
Of all that has been torn apart
My heart, my life, my soul
Split and divided, rended asunder
Pledged to one but grasped by others
Who’s tendrils refuse to grant me quarter
Pulling me apart from reality
To the places I might rather be
Lost inside of my head
The Answer Man has yet to speak
Will he ever?

No Words

August 23, 2007

I won’t say a thing
Words cannot express this
Instead I will paint you
Tracing your form with my eyes
Drawing your curves with my fingers
Chiseling you with tongue
Until you are left there
Lying still, gently quivering
A masterpiece

A Shiny Box

August 20, 2007

A labyrinth hides the secrets of your mind
But I have the keys to your hidden box of nevers
Slowly I tread deeper into the recesses
Touching, feeling, finding my way
Deeper towards the treasures you hold
A shiny ornate box of silver, etched in tiny scrolls
The key turns easily, the latches fall
The chest opens to expose your soul
All those things that you’ve tried to hide
Or secret dreams you fear to speak
Are laid bare before my hungry eyes
A rare virginal feast
As I pore through the trove of visions
I delight in the treasures found
And I vow to hold them dear and close
So no one might know what’s been found

Tracings

August 18, 2007

You sketch me
Lines on paper
Beginning to take form
But the drawing is empty
So you start to mold me
Hands coloring my skin
Fingers tracing my shadows
Your breath moistens my skin
And your eyes awaken my soul
Drawing me into your mouth
Where we finally meet
Sparks igniting paper
Slowly I burn
